Camera Ready & Disk Ready ArtworkSome customers may prefer to provide camera ready or disk ready artwork, especially when the layout is for a newsletter, brochure, or pamphlet. Below are listed the specifications for camera or disk ready art. Layout charges may apply if artwork does not meet specifications. Camera Ready Art Artwork must come as a hard copy capable of being photographed or photocopied as the job requires. All formatting must have been completed, this includes accurate positioning of folds where applicable. Artwork must have at least a 3/8" on 1 side for press gripper edge, if this is not possible, please contact the office for advice. Any adjustments that have to be done after the hard copy is received will be charged at $45.00 per hour with a minimum charge of $10.00.For artwork being printed in more than one colour, colour separations must be provided. Screens or grayscale must be printed at a maximum of 80 lpi. if provided as hard copy, where as if artwork is provided by disk we will provide screens at 150 lines per inch because the file will pass through our high resolution imagesetter direct to film. Disk Ready Art For Printing - As per Camera Ready artwork, all formatting must have been completed prior to disk being submitted, and any adjustments that have to be done will be charged at $45.00/hour. Artwork must have at least a 3/8" border for press to grip 1 edge, if this is not possible, contact the office for advice. Files may be emailed as a zipped attachment, or provided on a 3 1/2" diskette, 100 meg Zip Disk (PC or MAC), or on CD-ROM. Programs we currently use and accept are CorelDraw, Adobe Pagemaker 6, Microsoft Word 97 - 2000, and Publisher 2000 - 2002 (Extra formatting will likely be required in Publisher unless it is 1 color work). Please convert text to curves, or include fonts (or at least a list of fonts used). Colours must be converted to CMYK. Scan line work at 800 dpi or higher for optimum quality. Provide colour bitmap images at scan resolutions of 300 dpi. (Output is at 150 lpi.) And don't hesitate to contact the office with questions. Some programs can provide a Adobe acrobat pdf file, we can use these but they must be at the higher resolution for printing and not 100 dpi for screen display.For Color Copies - Need to print a file from your computer to our Color Copier? You may prefer to install a printer driver and set this as your default while designing your masterpiece, then you may send the file to us as a print-to-file & it should print out exactly or if sending as a file embed your fonts if possible or send your fonts and all attachments as well. Please select a print driver appropriate to your operating system.
